At Kendal we offer skiing/snowboarding sessions for those of us who want to get some practice in. On Sunday mornings between 10 and 1pm, the top part of the intermediate slope is closed off to allow beginners, progressing beginners and those still nervous, to practice their techniques without the fear of other skiers coming through from above. You can now also enrol as a member and book your first Adult Beginners lesson online.

Open sessions are meant to be easy going, sociable sessions where everyone can keep in shape for skiing or boarding and practise what they have been doing in lessons! If you are not a member why not try a taster session or a GoSkiGoBoard session?

Please read the slope rules before coming along to your first open skiing session.  We take new memberships in the lodge or online .

Instruction

Ski and Snowboard instruction at all levels is provided by our volunteer team of instructors. They are all professionally qualified under the direction of Snowsport England and our instructors are in continual training to stay in touch with modern developments.

Children's ski lessons

Add a junior to the waiting list

  • Beginners, 7 years and over. Children will be allocated a place in a beginner’s class based on priority on the waiting list.

  • Experienced skiers, 7 years and over will be allocated to an appropriate class subject to: an assessment, priority on the waiting list and space being available.

  • We offer children;s lessons on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

  • All children will be expected to work towards an appropriate level in the KSC five star awards scheme. To record progress parents are invited to buy the UK Snowlife Ski Awards booklet and have achievement signed off by their instructor. Snow award level 3 or above needs to be signed by a UKSS level 2 instructor or above.

  • Note in the lessons some children may be working towards a different level in the awards scheme.
