Safeguarding e-learning

There has been a recent change to the way that the refresher course is now delivered. Previously UK Coaching offered 3 options as a refresher for those needing it. UK coaching have combined all 3 topics into one as a complete refresher which is now offered as 3.5 hour course. It a long time, but as its e-learning and you don’t have to sit in front of a tutor for 3 hours in one stint you can pause it and go back to it meaning you will be able to divide the time up to convenient chunks.

UK Coaching are a national company who deliver CIMPSA approved training, and it is also approved by the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) who are the organisation who ensure all NGB’s safeguarding is set at an approved standard as required by Sport England. 

Snowsport England made the decision a few years ago that they would only accept training from UK Coaching so that we can be sure that everyone within our sport is trained to them same level. That was a recommendation from the Whyte review that was published as a result of safeguarding failings in Gymnastics one of which was the delivery of consistent safeguarding training for those that need it.

UK Coaching course £40 - e-learning course

The course includes four modules:

  • core safeguarding refresher
  • protecting children with disabilities in sport
  • digital safety for children in sport
  • working with parents and carers

Exploring

  • how safeguarding responsibilities apply in your coaching
  • how children’s experiences today shape coaching practice
  • how to take a child-first approach in your sessions
  • why listening to and valuing the child’s voice matters
  • how to create safe, positive environments with confidence

Subscribe to the Update Service?

You can join the Update Service at the same time you apply for a DBS check or within 30 days of the date of issue printed on your Certificate.
