Moguls and terrain course

Moguls and terrain course 2018 Thursday nights 8 – 10p.m.

Starting on the 11th October 19 finishing 21st March 19

The aim of this year’s course is to enable skiers to develop their skills and confidence in all the terrain options they may be faced with in any ski resort.   For the first weeks the course will be very gentle to cater for intermediates and cautious skiers.  The aim overall is to give skiers skills and adaptability to enable them to cope with the changing terrain which they will encounter on skiing holidays.  Giving them the confidence to ski any terrain, safely and in control and the confidence to try runs they may never have considered before.

The first few weeks will begin with an easy introduction to bumps and terrain followed by more advanced techniques designed to stretch skiers ability.  The aim of these weeks is to give skiers the ability to adapt to changing slope conditions and the confidence to ski both terrain, rollers, individual bumps and banks – and ski down moguls at an appropriate speed and in control.

We will cover how to read the terrain and adapt our skiing to enable us to maintain snow contact and steer in the direction we want to go.  In the bumps to be able to turn both on the tops of bumps and in the ‘rutline’, maintaining a safe, comfortable speed and staying in balance.  The intention is always to primarily have fun as well as developing skills and techniques. The techniques and balanced posture learned when skiing the bumps, will improve every area of your skiing.

Bob Park has been skiing for over 50 years, is a level 2 instructor and a freestyle moguls coach.
